Farmers in Maharashtra on strike

Farmers in Maharashtra on strike !
What a shame for government and all of us ! It never happens in the history of India.

One who feeds all and make our nation self sufficient for food grains , took such an extreme step.
Agriculture is the main occupation in India.More than 60% population depend upon agriculture for their livelihood. It provides employment to the millions of non skilled labors.Due importance has not been given to agricultural sector.
In India, agriculture mostly depends on monsoon. As there is a shortage of irrigation facilities  multi crop cultivation is not possible. Due to traditional farming method, shortage of good hybrid seeds and fertilizer, inadequate credit facility agriculture productivity in India is low. Average land holding is also less.
Considering all above factor the yield from agriculture is less. Also farmers do not get good prices for there production. Many times the yield is lower than the expenditure incurred in farming. Farmers are not able to repay the bank loans.
Farmers indebtedness is another big problem.Due to constant indebtedness, farmers get frustrated.
Farmers suicide is a alarming issue. In the resent years the ratio of farmers suicides has increased.
It is a big social issue.
All this causes farmers to go for a strike.
As Indian we must support their movement .

  1. Very true Sir.
But before blaming the government, we have to accept the fact that it is democracy, and whoever is in the government, ultimately People are responsible for it. Hence it is no use blaming.
Secondly, this time it is farmers, who are not satisfied with the government. Before this, it was the defence forces who were dissatisfied.
Is it possible, that all the sections of society are satisfied.
So, we will have to consider all the sides in combination.
Lastly, no doubt, farmers are the backbone of our society and economy, but are you sure not to credit the contribution of Defence forces, Doctors, Teachers, Engeeners, Landless workers, and many others?
In my opinion, all the classes have their own role to make this world better for living.
And, as far as the issue of farmers is concerned, every individual have to introspect, and put forward the solution peacefully and patiently.
